Safety & Use

What dosage should I take?

Start low and go slow.

If you’re completely new to psilocybin, we recommend starting off with our 150 mg dose DAYBREAK product. You can slowly build up and transition to the 300 mg dose PARTY WAVE and stack from there once you’ve become familiar with the effects. It’s important to note that everyone’s experience and tolerance levels are unique, so your preferred’sweet spot’ dosage may differ from others.Â

Microdosing isn’t about feeling a sudden, overwhelming change, it’s about subtle shifts in the way you think, feel, and engage with the world.

For many people, it feels like their brain loosens up in a way that allows for new perspectives. You may notice that you’re able to step outside of your usual thought patterns and approach problems, conversations, or creative work with fresh insights. Connections between seemingly unrelated ideas may come more naturally, and you might find yourself thinking in ways that feel more fluid, open, or intuitive.

Some people describe it as a gentle nudge toward clarity—not a high, not a buzz, but a sense that things just click into place a little more easily.

If you’re unsure whether it’s working for you, try:

  • Checking in with yourself: how are you feeling?
  • Ask yourself: How am I showing up right now? Am I feeling more present, patient, or engaged?
  • Noticing your patterns: Am I reacting to situations differently than I normally would?
  • Observing your curiosity: Am I approaching people and things with more openness or interest?

If you ever feel uneasy:

  • Breathe deeply and remind yourself the effects are temporary. I love to do the 4-7-8 breathing method to help recenter and relax myself.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and resting in a quiet space.
  • Distract yourself with music, journaling, or light body movementlike EFT tapping or lymphatic drainage movements, for example.

Animal and human research studies suggest that psilocybin has a low risk of abuse and no potential for physical dependence. Unlike many substances, it does not typically lead to addiction.

Our mushroom capsules are vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal-certified, and free from artificial fillers—just the mushrooms we grow and the plant-based capsules we pack them in.Â

As part of our growing process, we do use a process that includes corn-based grain spawn and coconut-based substraight. While these materials are not present in the final product, individuals with severe corn or coconut allergies should consult a healthcare professional before use.Â

Researchers note that about 66% of the compounds from psilocybin mushrooms get excreted in the first 3 hours after ingestion. After 24 hours, psilocybin becomes undetectable in a person’s urine.

Standard drug tests do not screen for psilocybin. However, specialized tests may detect it within 24-48 hours of ingestion.

Psilocybin capsules typically have a shelf life of 12 to 24 months when stored properly. To maintain potency and freshness:

  • Keep them in a dark, dry place away from light, heat, and humidity.
  • Store in an airtight container to prevent moisture exposure.
  • Do not store in the freezer, as freezing leads to rapid degradation.Â

It is not recommended due to the lack of research on its safety for both the mother and baby.

Psilocybin affects serotonin receptors, which play a crucial role in fetal development and neurological function. Substances consumed while breastfeeding can pass through breast milk to the infant.

Since there are no clinical studies confirming the safety of psilocybin during pregnancy or lactation, it’s best to consult a healthcare professional before considering microdosing.

Preparation & Dosing Guidance

How long does a mushroom high last for?

A magic mushroom trip typically lasts around 6-8 hours, though the peak effects are usually felt for about 3-4 hours before gradually tapering into a gentler afterglow.

Unlike LSD, which has a more continuous effect, mushrooms tend to come in waves. One way to think about it is like jumping into a pool:

  • At first, there’s an initial plunge, where you’re fully submerged in the experience—this can feel intense, immersive, and sometimes disorienting, especially for beginners.
  • As you adjust, you resurface into the afterglow, where the world still feels different, but you have more clarity and control.
  • From this point, you can choose to stay in the shallow end, reflecting on the experience with a peaceful, dreamy awareness, or take a deep dive back into introspection and visuals by shifting your focus.

Â

The duration and intensity of the trip can vary depending on factors like dosage, setting, and personal sensitivity, but in general, you should set aside a full 8-hour window to ride it out comfortably.

For microdosing, set a clear intention, start on a low-pressure day, take it on a light stomach, and track how you feel. Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol.

For a trip, choose a safe, comfortable space, be in a good headspace, and surround yourself with people you trust. Have water, light snacks, music, and a cozy setup. Avoid heavy meals, too much caffeine, or stressful environments. Start with a low dose and build from there.

Most people take it in the morning, as microdosing can have mild stimulating effects similar to caffeine. If you take it too late in the day, it may disrupt sleep.

The ideal microdosing schedule varies depending on your personal goals and sensitivity. Here are three common approaches:

  1. Fadiman Protocol (Beginner-Friendly): Take one microdose every three days (one day on, two days off). This helps prevent tolerance buildup and allows time to observe effects.
  2. Balanced Approach: Microdose three times a week on the same days (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for consistency.
  3. Workweek Schedule: Microdose Monday through Friday with weekends off, ideal for those looking to enhance productivity.

Â

Regardless of the schedule, it’s best to take 1-2 weeks off every 2-3 months to reset and avoid long-term tolerance. Always start with a low dose and adjust based on your experience.

No. You should not feel high or experience hallucinations when microdosing. It’s meant to produce subtle effects without causing a full psychedelic experience.Â

Instead, many people report:

  • Feeling calmer and less anxious (a sense of well-being or positivity)
  • Increased focus and creativity
  • Mild boost in energy or motivation
  • Improved mindfulness or emotional balance

Â

If you feel strong effects like euphoria, dizziness, headaches, or distorted perception, your dose may be too high. The goal is to integrate microdosing into daily life without disruption. If you’re new to microdosing we recommend starting with a lower dose (sinlge DAYBREAK capsule) and stack as needed.

Not necessarily. Sensitivity to psilocybin varies more by brain chemistry than body size. Start low and adjust based on your experience.

Set and setting refers to your mindset (set) and environment (setting) when using psychedelics. While this concept is crucial for higher-dose experiences, it still plays a role in microdosing.

  • Set (Mindset): Your mood, mental state, and intentions can influence how a microdose affects you. A positive, open mindset may enhance benefits like focus and creativity, while stress or anxiety could amplify unexpected or unwanted feelings.
  • Setting (Environment): A calm, comfortable space can help you get the most out of microdosing. Whether at home, work, or in nature, being in a familiar and supportive environment can make a difference in your experience.

While microdosing is subtle, set and setting can impact how you integrate the effects into your daily life—helping you maximize its potential benefits.

  • Best practice: Take it on a day when you feel calm, curious, or open.
  • Avoid: Overly stressful situations, if possible, when experimenting with dosage.

There are no strict dietary rules for microdosing, but certain foods and drinks can enhance or interfere with your experience.

Best to Consume:
  • Healthy fats(e.g., avocados, nuts, coconut oil) may support absorption and brain function.
  • Fluids (water, teas, ect.) to keep you refreshed and reduce potential headaches.
  • Light, balanced meals (fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, snacks, charcuterie boards, ect.) help maintain your energy levels.
Best to Avoid:
  • Caffeine (in excess) can increase anxiety or jitteriness when combined with psilocybin.
  • Alcohol and processed sugars may dull the effects and impact your mood stability.
  • Grapefruit and other acids can alter enzyme activity and affect how substances are metabolized.

Â

Listening to your body and maintaining a nutrient-rich diet can help you get the most out of your microdosing experience.

Psilocybin is not considered toxic, and overdoses are extremely rare. However, taking a high dose can lead to intense psychological and physical effects, such as:

  • Severe anxiety or paranoia
  • Psychedelic PTSD if you are not prepared for the effects of a high-dose trip
  • Disorientation and confusion
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Increased heart rate and blood pressure
  • Loss of coordination or muscle weaknessÂ

Â

Research supports that psilocybin can be safely administered in controlled settings. A King’s College London study found that 10 mg and 25 mg doses of psilocybin caused no short- or long-term detrimental effects in healthy individuals.

Additionally, a New England Journal of Medicine study found that a single 25 mg dose significantly reduced depression symptoms over three weeks in individuals with treatment-resistant depression.

While psilocybin is not physically addictive, taking excessively high doses without preparation or guidance can be overwhelming. If someone is experiencing distress, ensure they are in a safe environment and seek medical help if necessary.

If you take SSRIs, MAOIs, or any medication that affects serotonin, consult your doctor before microdosing, as interactions may occur.

Combining psilocybin with SSRIs or MAOIs can be risky—it may lead to serotonin syndrome, a potentially dangerous condition caused by excessive serotonin levels. Additionally, SSRIs can dampen or block the effects of psilocybin, reducing its potential benefits.

Always seek medical advice before combining psilocybin with any prescription medication.
